The future Center of Hope will allow The Salvation Army to greatly increase outreach services to the needy of Wake County - it will truly be a Foundation for Good.

MATTRESS FIRM PARTNERS WITH THE SALVATION ARMY TO PROVIDE CHRISTMAS JOY TO CHILDREN ACROSS THE TRIANGLE
Toy Drive to be Held at Mattress Firm Stores in November and December of 2012
Mattress Firm has partnered with The Salvation Army to provide Christmas joy for children throughout the Triangle who might otherwise go without this holiday season. All Mattress Firm locations in Wake and Durham counties will be accepting new toy donations in November and December this year. To encourage donations, Mattress Firm will be offering $50 off any purchase of $499 or more when customers donate a toy.
The toy drive will help provide a happier Christmas to some 10,000 children in Durham, Orange, Person, and Wake counties who are expected to receive holiday gifts through The Salvation Army this year.
“The number of children assisted at Christmas has nearly doubled in the last two years in Durham, Orange, and Person counties as the economy has tightened household budgets”, notes Maj. Bruce Smith, Corps Officer for The Salvation Army in the Western Triangle. “With our current economy, families are worried about putting food on the table for their children. They simply do not have the extra income to purchase toys and gifts. We want to help make the holidays magical for these children, and this would not be possible without the help of the community and companies such as Mattress Firm who host these Toy Drives for us.”
