The Salvation Army firmly believes that the abuse and exploitation of human beings through any form of human trafficking is an offense against humankind and against God. This belief, combined with our mission to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination, motivates us to work vigilantly for the prevention of human trafficking and for the restoration of survivors. To that end, The Salvation Army has developed a program to help combat Human Trafficking in North Carolina, as well as offer services to victims.
The Salvation Army of Wake County offers emergency case management services as well as long-term comprehensive case management services to foreign-born victims of human trafficking anywhere in the state of North Carolina. For foreign-born victims of human trafficking, be it labor trafficking, sex trafficking, or domestic servitude, The Salvation Army offers and provides funding for shelter, medical and mental health needs, legal services, personal items, clothing, transportation, interpretation, food, emergency services, dental, utilities, ESL, and help with employment.
