WAKE COUNTY, N.C. - The Steward’s Fund of Raleigh, has issued a challenge to The Salvation Army of Wake County: Raise $100,000 by May 15, 2008, and the amount will be doubled. WAKE COUNTY, NC - The Salvation Army of Wake County will open the doors to its annual Christmas Cheer Toy Shop on Monday and Tuesday, December 17 and 18, 2007. Parents that registered in October and November with The Salvation Army for Christmas assistance will return to “shop” from the tables upon tables loaded with thousands of new toys. The Spokes Group, a nonprofit organization that distributes new bicycles and helmets to less fortunate families during the holiday season, officially launched its Triangle chapter today. The Triangle Spokes Group is partnering with The Salvation Army of Wake County to collect donations and distribute the bicycles in time for the holidays – with the goal of donating 200 youth bicycles to area families this year.
