Did you know that The Salvation Army is a Christian church and denomination? It was founded as an evangelical organization and is an outgrowth of the Methodist tradition. Worship services are built upon the love, grace and forgiveness of God through the redemptive power of Jesus Christ. The Salvation Army worship experience is differentiated from other denominations only by the inspirational brass instruments that accompany the music.

The Salvation Army’s worship services are open to all people. You are invited to join us at The Salvation Army Corps, located at 902 Wake Forest Road. Spiritual services and fellowship groups include:

Description of Group Programs:

Adventure Corps
A Christian education and development program designed for boys in grades 1 through 8. It is divided into two sections: Explorers for first through fourth grade boys, and Rangers for boys in grades 5 through 8. Each section takes boys through a series of achievement badges and levels, helping them develop their individuality and potential.

Girl Guards
A Scout-type program for girls in grades 6 through 12 that focuses on helping them learn about themselves and their expanding world. It guides them toward spiritual, physical and social well being, and helps them understand their potential as individuals. Educational trips and camping experiences are also an important part of this program.

Home League
Home League is a Women’s Ministry program for all women ages 16 and up; for all denominations.

League of Mercy
Salvationists and volunteers who visit prisons, hospitals and nursing homes, in their own time, bringing the gospel and rendering practical aid.

Men’s Club
A men’s fellowship program for men ages 16 and up. This is a non-denominational program meeting on Wednesdays at 7:30 pm.

Sunbeams
A Scout-type program open to girls in the first through fifth grades. The Christian girls groups offer a variety of interest areas designed for girls of this age group such as, Arts and skills, Health, Nature, Service, Personal Growth, Animals, Friendships, and People.
