


The Salvation Army of Wake County touches many lives through our Social Ministries department. And as the Raleigh-Durham area continues to grow (Wake County is 50% bigger than just 10 years ago), we're pressed to keep up with the demand, and are prayerfully planning ways to meet our ever-changing, constantly expanding needs for upcoming years.
Women & Children's Shelter
Our 34-bed emergency shelter provides stable
housing and helps educate families to grow towards self-sufficiency. Residents qualify for the
following services and benefits:
Daily Soup Kitchen
The soup kitchen at The Salvation Army of
Wake County is open to
all people in need
within our community, Monday through Friday,
from 5-6pm.
An average of 135 people receive
a hot meal in the soup kitchen every week day.
Crisis Assistance
For many people in our community, homelessness can be just one step away due to an eviction notice or an unpaid bill. The Salvation Army believes that all people have a right to the basic necessities of life and therefore offers the following programs to empower people to turn their circumstances around:
