Each program is designed to provide
the youth we serve with the opportunity to learn more about God, as Christian
principals are implemented in every aspect of the Center. SACC also strives
to increase positive social skills within the children through recreational
opportunities. Furthermore, we help our youth excel academically through
tutoring and other activities that better prepare them for End of Grade
Testing and success in life. Choose one of the following for more information.

Camp Walter Johnson
Since 1974, Camp Walter Johnson has touched the lives of 55,000 + underprivileged children and it all started with an interesting story and a generous donation.
This Salvation Army Camp began with a generous land donation from a local Denton, N. C. resident, Walter Johnson. He gave The Salvation Army 143 acres and an additional piece of real estate which was sold for $650,000. These funds helped finance the initial construction of the camp.
Camp Walter Johnson is administered by The Salvation Army North & South Carolina Divisional Headquarters, in Charlotte, NC.
