Scores of children right here in Wake County are in need of love, encouragement and positive influences in their lives. One way The Salvation Arny helps these youngsters is by sending them to week long sessions of Summer Camp and providing Summer Day Camp opportunities. Boys and girls are shown love and attention, which opens up a whole new world of hope and trust for them. Summer camp helps children gain confidence and self-worth. It enables them to laugh, sing, and have fun. Please, Keep the bell ringing to hear hope.

Camp Walter Johnson
Since 1974, Camp Walter Johnson has touched the lives of 55,000 + underprivileged children and it all started with an interesting story and a generous donation.
This Salvation Army Camp began with a generous land donation from a local Denton, N. C. resident, Walter Johnson. He gave The Salvation Army 143 acres and an additional piece of real estate which was sold for $650,000. These funds helped finance the initial construction of the camp.
Camp Walter Johnson is administered by The Salvation Army North & South Carolina Divisional Headquarters, in Charlotte, NC.
